Alexandra Reis, a former director of TAP, admits that she felt uncomfortable hiring new directors for the company, under Christine Ormeyer-Widener, because they were expensive, and most of them were foreigners.

Some people made no secret that they were close to the CEO [presidente da comissão executiva]. I think they were French,” confirmed Alexandra Reis, former program director of TAP, at the hearing in the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI), in response to Socialist Party deputy Hugo Costa.

Christine Ormeyer-Widener came to the presidency without a team, and with an executive committee already selected. A few months later, it was reported that he was hiring new directors and consultants for TAP that included people he was close to.

The former director of TAP had already admitted that she expressed her discomfort with the new appointment of directors that boss Christine Ormeyer-Widner was making, especially given that after the restructuring plan, many workers left. Many foreigners were employed.

“Because there were many non-Portuguese people to be hired, this had additional costs for TAP, with the change of house [e outros extra]He added, in response to Hugo Costa, that the new appointments “came mainly from the United Kingdom and France and one person, I think, came from South America”.

The director also noted that “the new appointment tends to be more difficult, also because there have been pay cuts, and it has become more expensive.”

Alexandra Reese admits that the CEO will be aware of her unhappiness with the situation. He admits that this may have been one point of difference.

However, Alexandra Reis stressed that “the reasons for her departure are still not clear.” He confirmed that he had “never had any conversation with the CEO” about the concrete reasons why Christine Ormeyer-Wiedner decided to leave TAP.
