A court in Santander ordered midfielder Mateo Tanlongo to pay one million euros to Racing, for not fulfilling the agreement with the Spanish club. The Argentine player reached an understanding with the club from the neighboring country last summer, and all he needed to do was sign, but he went to Copenhagen.
Racing negotiated the player's transfer with Sporting, and Tanlungo was on the field and recorded a video wearing the number 22 shirt.

However, when Tanlungo's representative arrived at Santander to sign the agreement, there was a meeting with Racing's sporting director. The agent explained that the Argentine midfielder was going to travel to Copenhagen to fulfill his desire to play in the Champions League, but the Spanish club did not abandon the signing and took the case to court.
According to the court's decision, reported by the Spanish news agency EFE, Tanlungo “was not honest, correct, legal and loyal” at the “contractual level.”
Tanlungo now has five days to appeal this decision.
It should be noted that one million euros is the amount stipulated in the agreement in the event of breach of the contract.
After just one game in half a season in Copenhagen, Tanlungo moved to Rio Ave in the recent transfer window. He has played nine matches so far for Villacondenses.
