According to the Director of the Health Surveillance Department, Dennis Milo Martins, the joint work between the municipality and the state government has been developed so that the campaign can take place on a larger scale in the city. “We have established a large work team to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and rely on the help of the population, as the fight against mosquitoes is a continuous and collective task, seeking to prevent diseases that may increase in the summer due to the climate. Conditions that favor the breeding of mosquitoes, dengue fever. Also this week, there will be Covering municipal areas to implement vector control procedures and activities to eliminate breeding sites,” Dennis comments.

In 2023, 377 notifications of dengue fever have already been registered in São Carlos, with 66 positive cases, 47 original and 19 imported cases. For chikungunya, 14 notifications have been registered, with 09 neglected cases, 04 awaiting test results and 01 positive (imported) cases. For Zika virus, 07 notifications were recorded, with 07 cases ignored. No notification has been registered yet for yellow fever.
