Lisbon, Portugal – August 9, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Today announced the opening of the One UI 6 Beta program for users of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in the United States, Germany and South Korea. Based on Android 14, One UI 6 delivers a more user-friendly experience through a full suite of improvements to Samsung apps and features, such as a streamlined design and wider customization options. The beta program is an important precursor to the public release, as it allows real user feedback to be collected and incorporated, ensuring that the official software update provides the best possible experience.

Simplicity and accessibility
One UI 6 makes an attractive first impression with its simplicity. Many elements have been modified to create a more modern look, such as the new default font and new emojis on the Samsung keyboard. The Quick Panel has been revamped and features a new design that makes it easier to access the features that users use most. Adjusting brightness has also been simplified, with the control bar available by default in the Quick Panel. There’s also a new option for instant access to this panel, which allows you to access settings with a swipe down in the upper right corner of the screen.
New ways to personalize your experience
One UI 6 is packed with amazing new ways for users to customize their Galaxy experience according to their habits and preferences, making it an extension of themselves. It is now possible to set different lock screens according to specific modes and actions, such as an inspiring picture of a forest in sleep mode. There’s also a new custom camera widget, which allows users to pre-select the camera’s position and storage location for photos — such as setting portrait mode and recording to a specific folder only for face shots.
