The premium foldable Galaxy Z Fold6 will hide a Qualcomm chip inside and not the South Korean brand’s own processor. But there is a reason why this happens.
All for energy efficiency
The information is provided by Electric diffusion Which explains the reason for this choice by Samsung. This post says that the South Korean brand preferred to integrate the Qualcomm chip due to its power efficiency.
Although the Exynos 2400 processor has significantly improved performance and power efficiency over its predecessor, it still cannot meet the power requirements needed to integrate Samsung’s best-in-class foldable phone.
But there is more. According to the same publication, the Exynos processor also does not meet the power requirements of the Galaxy Z Flip6. For this reason, the new foldable body will also be equipped with a Qualcomm chipset.
The two new foldable models are expected to be officially presented at the brand’s upcoming Unpacked event, which will be held in July.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 on Geekbench
Meanwhile, the premium foldable Galaxy Z Fold6 has made a trip to Geekbench. According to the information released, the new smartphone obtained 1964 points in single-core tests and 6619 points in multi-core tests.
The well-known platform also confirmed that the foldable phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and that it will have a version with 12 GB of RAM, in addition to running the Android 14 operating system.
