The UK Prime Minister announced on Wednesday that the general election will be held on July 4. Rishi Sunak’s decision was announced after a government meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Downing Street.
“It is time for the UK to choose its future, and decide whether it wants to build on the progress made or risk returning to square one, without a plan and without certainty,” he said in a statement from Downing Street.
