Reflections for the Second Sunday of Advent

In an environment where there is oppression and people are unhappy, breaking free and opening the window and door becomes vital.

This environment of embarrassment exists among the people of Israel, and finally, after 40 years, a prophet appears declaring that liberation is near. A new spirit is being reborn in people’s hearts and expectations are high. The famous light at the end of the tunnel appeared to them. When you walk, you get closer to liberation. Every step forward is and always will be a step towards happiness, in fact, any step that provides this feeling of happiness and joy.

We too, who are in distress, who are experiencing serious difficulties, who are faced with problems that seem insoluble, are transformed and create a new life when we know that there is a solution, a positive and liberating solution.

The Mass of the Second Sunday of Advent brings us this good news, which is that our pain and suffering will end because the Lord will bring His message of peace and put everything in its place, and human beings will once again enjoy tranquility, joy and joy. The peace in their lives, which he was called to live, and which he will live in forever.

God acts and sends His Messiah, but God also demands our repentance, and often it is our adherence to sin, through solidarity with the oppressor, and our conformity to the state of injustice, that encourages the failure of the dominant to change.

Therefore, we are the cause of our misfortunes and the misfortunes of our brothers. We must therefore examine our conscience about our participation in or coexistence in situations of oppression and discover what ties bind us to sin.

We will only be forgiven if, in addition to repentance, we make a decision to change our lives and values. It is necessary to turn to goodness, to God. Only then will the way be paved for the coming of Christ the Savior, and life will reveal itself and appear in our midst.

Let’s get ready for Christmas! But the real preparation, which will have the dimensions of eternity, is the conversion of our hearts. The heart’s guidance to others, to God, to do good and enhance life!
