Partnership between LGBTQIA+ and Health Sub-Secretariats promotes symposium on combating HIV – (Photo: Reproduction)

The Under Secretary for LGBTQIA+ Public Policy and the State Department of Health will promote the first Symposium on Combating HIV on Wednesday (29), bringing together directors and representatives of social movements. The event will start at 8 am, in the Semed Hall, in Villa Margarida, in Campo Grande.

The program, which is open to the public, will address topics such as care, HIV elimination goals, stigma and discrimination, as well as offering workshops on decentralization of treatment, co-prevention, reception and HIV among indigenous people.

Gabriele Antonieta, psychologist at the State Center for LGBTQIA+ Citizenship, linked to Setescc (State Secretariat of Tourism, Sports, Culture and Citizenship) and one of the organizers of the event, highlights that despite advances in medicine for prevention and treatment, Mato Grosso do South still faces alarming rates. .

“The aim of this meeting is to encourage dialogue and alert the population. It is essential that we continue to invest in action, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. This symposium is an opportunity for public managers and social movements to discuss strategies to combat HIV,” highlights.

9am – Lecture entitled “Cascade of Care and HIV Elimination Goals” with speaker from the Ministry of Health, Liliane Nobre Di Moura, moderated by Alessandra Salvatore, SES/MS

10:30 AM – Lecture entitled “Stigma and Discrimination”, with speaker from the Ministry of Health Daniele Canavese de Oliveira, moderated by Marco Aurelio de Almeida Soares.

1:30 pm – Workshops:

  • “Decentralize treatment of people living with HIV”;
  • “Joint prevention according to gender identity”;
  • “Treatment intake, withdrawal, cascade of care, and HIV elimination goals;
  • “Indigenous HIV: How to implement co-prevention while respecting culture.”
