OURÉM – The Chamber receives two million euros to rehabilitate the health center

The Mayor of Ourem City Council, Luis Miguel Albuquerque, signed the full financing contract worth two million euros, within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). This funding aims to rehabilitate and expand the Orem Health Centre, as a result of a request submitted at the beginning of this year. The contract signing ceremony took place in the Infarmed hall in Lisbon, and was attended by, among others, Minister of Health Ana Paula Martins and Deputy Minister and Regional Cohesion Manuel Castro Almeida. “The funding aims to intervene and expand the western wing of the health center, which includes the Community Care Unit (UCC). Furthermore, it is expected that the interior of the building will be completely redesigned, with the introduction of mechanical means to facilitate access for people with limited mobility. The outdoor space will also undergo a major restructuring, including reorganizing access to the health unit grounds and prioritizing parking spaces. A second independent entrance will be created for the complementary service area, prepared for the entry and exit of ambulances,” explained the municipality of Ourense. Luis Miguel Albuquerque highlighted the importance of this work, noting that “the goal is to provide better conditions for both health workers and users. This intervention is essential to ensure everyone has access to quality health care in a modern and accessible environment.”
