Not everyone is skeptical of NFT, as evidenced by Muse becoming the first band to top the UK charts with an album featuring NFT technology.

Will of the People, out on Friday 26 August, is the English band’s ninth studio album.

It went public on August 26 and sold 51,500 copies in its first week. Will of the People by English band Muse became the first British album to incorporate NFT technology and reached number one in the UK charts.

In addition to traditional formats such as vinyl, digital, cassette and CD, Muse's Will of the People also went public in NFT format. The latter was limited to 1,000 copies worldwide, so its UK sales accounted for a maximum of 1.96% of total sales.

Despite reaching number one, the Will of the People album was not originally released in NFT format, as rapper Manchester Itch had already released his version. According to GuardianDebut album Close to Home was released a week before Muse's feat and peaked at No. 2 on last week's chart.

Last month, The Guardian also shared that NFT has qualified for the Albums Chart for a few months. But now they are on sale. Muse's Will of the People NFT was sold through the Serenade platform, while Manchester Itch's Close to Home was sold on Limewire.

The digital version of the now-out-of-print Muse album includes a downloadable version of the album, an alternate cover art, and a digital signature from the band members.
