Microsoft wants to make more changes to Windows 11 and many of its components. Evidence of this is already in the system and the changes have occurred. Now, one of those changes has been reversed, and Microsoft has rolled back one of the big changes to File Explorer.
A cleanup has been prepared by Microsoft for File Explorer in Windows 11. These changes are intended to free this component of many options and features that are already outdated and could therefore disappear.
The fact is that after the announcement of this change, still in the Dev version of Windows 11, the community reacted not in the most positive way. Many claimed that these were important features that many still use on a daily basis.
Thanks to all the Windows Insiders who gave us feedback about changes to Folder Options in File Explorer that removed some old settings in build 23481. We've reversed this change. As is typical in the Dev Channel, we often try things out, get feedback, and tweak based on the feedback we receive.
With this information, Microsoft ended up reneging on what it had committed to do regarding Windows 11 File Explorer. This has now been seen in the latest Insider build, released this year by Microsoft for Windows 11.
By reversing the change, Microsoft is showing that it is listening to users for what they want from the operating system. This is also the nature of development releases for Insider Program releases, where all new features and changes are tested and evaluated by everyone.
Therefore, we ensure that these features are present in Windows 11 for a longer period of time. It is likely that Microsoft will continue to change other applications and therefore continue to renew its system and everything that revolves around it.
