Lula confirms his trip to Japan to attend the G7 summit | Brazil

On Friday (5), the Federal Government confirmed the participation of the House of Representatives president Louise Inacio Lola Da Silva at the top of the G7, a group that includes the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany and Canada. Brazil will participate in the foreign participation part, which will be held in the city of HiroshimaOn May 20 and 21.

“Brazil shares the values ​​that unite the G7 countries – such as the promotion of democracy, economic modernization, environmental protection and human rights – and maintains permanent coordination with its members on issues on the international agenda, both bilaterally and within the scope of the G20 and international organizations that In which Brazil and G7 members interact, ”the note issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Itamarati Palace also reported that, in agreement with the Japanese government, the G7 countries in addition to Brazil, Australia, Comoros Islands, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea and Vietnam were invited to attend the meeting, in addition to representatives of the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the Agency Energy International, the World Health Organization, the World Trade Organization, and the European Union.

This will be Lula’s seventh participation in the G7 meeting. The Brazilian president was present at six meetings of the group, between 2003 and 2009. The Group of Seven brings together the world’s most advanced economies.

The Brazilian government reported that, among other topics, the external engagement segment of the G7 will discuss challenges faced by the international community in areas such as peace and security, health, development, gender issues, climate, energy, and the environment.
