British Conservative Party leadership candidate Liz Truss has secured two strong endorsements, strengthening her position as the favorite to succeed Boris Johnson as leader of the party and government.

The debate surrounding Johnson’s succession at 10 Downing Street revolves around fiscal policy and controlling inflation. Truss has criticized tax hikes by Sunak, until recently finance minister, and has promised tax cuts. His opponent says Truss’s proposal is unsustainable and compromises the existence of public accounts.
