The influenza vaccine, which prevents the influenza virus, continues to be applied to camp residents, from Monday to Friday, in more than 30 immunization centers distributed throughout the municipality. Started April 4th through Thursday (7), 78,115 people were vaccinated.

The vaccination takes place from 9 am to 3 pm and all residents can receive the vaccine from the age of 6 months. The main goal of the campaign is to prevent the emergence of complications from the disease, and to prevent possible stress on the health system and deaths.

At the time of vaccination, it is necessary to provide a photo, CPF or SUS card and vaccination book/card. In the case of a pregnant woman, an antenatal card must be attached. The vaccine used is a trivalent vaccine, consisting of viruses of type B, H1N1 and H3N2 of the Darwin subtype, which caused the outbreak at the end of last year.

According to the Undersecretary for Primary Care, Monitoring and Health Promotion (Subpav), there are no restrictions on who will take the flu shot, except for people who are allergic to chicken eggs. Simultaneous vaccination, influenza and Covid-19, is a practice recommended by the Ministry of Health for people over 12 years of age.

“Children between the ages of 5 and 11 should only respect the minimum interval of 15 days between influenza and Covid-19 vaccination,” explains the technical advisor for immunizations, Leonardo Cordero.
