Interrupted since June 25th, when the Dutch Grand Prix took place, MotoGP is only returning in two weeks in Great Britain, making this summer break the usual ‘silly season’, in which so much is said…but so little is certain. One of the more recurring themes of this period was about the future of Marc Marquez, his eventual continuity at Honda, or, after that, the change to KTM. That turned out to be one of the main topics of conversation in an interview with “Speedweek” by Stephane Pierer, CEO of the Austrian team, which ended with a suggestion that might affect … Miguel Oliveira.

“The current economic situation is not making things easy for the privateer MotoGP teams. I heard the second team is at Aprilia [a CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP] Already facing financial difficulties, she must be helped by Aprilia. Let’s see,” Perrier shot, hinting at the possibility of more teams in the paddock for KTM—in addition to the official GAS GAS.

In this sense, Perer takes this scenario for granted, as he confirms that Pedro Acosta will move to MotoGP in 2024 and Augusto Fernandez will also continue in the main class. “A lot has been said, but the truth is that Pedro Acosta will take part in the KTM World Championship with KTM. Wherever he is. And if he needs an extra seat, that will be solved,” confirmed the Austrian, who thus expresses his confidence in the departure of any of the current teams.

And what about Marc Marquez? There, Stéphane Pierre reveals that the Spaniard is not part of the KTM project and has announced. “You can’t imagine how many times it’s been offered…but hiring a marquez is not part of our way of working. We build riders, from Moto3 to Moto2. I also believe in Brad Bender and Jack Miller, who fought with us for Moto3 titles in 2014 and are back now. I’m not saying it’s out of the question, but it’s not something that fits what we want.”
