Health records 39% drop in demand for Covid-19 testing centers in Piracicaba | Piracicaba and the region

This decrease compares the week of July 11 to 15 with the week of July 25 to 29, from 1,621 groups to 991. The number of positive cases fell 41% in the same period, from 492 to 290. On August 4, there were 756 exam and 197 positive exams.

With the low demand for rapid tests for Covid-19, the Minister of Health will suspend the special service at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) Alvorada from next Monday (8).

Primary Care Reference Centers (Crabs) Piracicamirim, Santa Terezinha, Vila Sônia, Cecap and Vila Cristina continue to run tests, as well as UBS Caxambu, from 17:00 to 20:30, Monday through Friday.

Despite this drop, the Department of Health reported that it continues to monitor cases of influenza and respiratory syndromes. According to Vol., these diseases are more common in cooler, drier weather.

“It is important to note that the rate of positivity for Covid-19 has also decreased, but we cannot let our guard down. Therefore, it is important that residents continue to seek out our health centers and vaccinate themselves against influenza and against Covid-19,” Philemon Silvano said, Minister of Health.

To access the express test, a person must search for any of the six test centers with a personal document with photo and CPF. People who have influenza and respiratory symptoms or who have been in contact with a suspected/positive person will be tested for Covid-19.

In the event of a positive result, the person will be properly directed by the unit team regarding symptoms, treatment and isolation. If a patient requires a medical certificate, they will be referred for care at any of the city’s four UPAs.

According to epidemiological surveillance data, in January there were 38,441 notifications of Covid-19, of which 10,360 were positive and 57 died; In February, 16,207 notifications, with 5,734 positive and 70 deaths.

In March, there were 10,840 reported, of which 1,620 were positive and 15 were deaths; In April, 3,074 reported, 683 positive cases and six deaths; In May, 6,101 reported, 1,270 positive cases, and eight deaths; In June 11,974 notified, 3,564 positive cases and 26 deaths; In July 6,141 notifications, 3,727 positives and 24 deaths.
