The heavy rains that hit the state since the beginning of the month contributed to an increase in the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue, Zika and chikungunya. In light of this, the state government, through SES (State Health Secretariat), has carried out several arbovirus control training courses in 79 municipalities, with the aim of reducing the impact of these diseases in the state.
From Monday (6) through today (8), the State SES Coordination of Vector Control strategically trained health agents and technicians in topics related to vector biology and operational practices.
State vector control coordinator Mauro Liceu explains that health professionals from other municipalities in the state will also receive training according to the strategic work schedule. “So that we have the security and certainty that all customers and technicians are trained by the Vector Control Coordination and know exactly what needs to be done immediately to basically contain the cases of dengue and chikungunya in the state,” he asserts.
During the training, vector biology, field operations, home visits, strategic points and critical points related to disease spread will be touched upon. The training is carried out in practice so that any doubts that arise are clarified and thus the agents and technicians are better qualified with a view to delivering firm work on all properties in Ponta Porã.
Responsibility for optimizing agents and technicians will rest with SES Technicians for Vector Control Coordination, Marcio Luiz de Oliveira and Marcos Carvalhal, under the direction of State Vector Control Coordinator, Mauro Lucio.
