Greenvolt Power, a subsidiary of the Greenvolt Group specializing in large-scale solar and wind energy projects, has reached an agreement with Energa Wytwarzanie (one of the largest companies in the energy sector in Poland, with more than 45 hydroelectric dams, six wind farms and six solar parks in the country) to sell two assets in Poland for a global amount of €107 million.

The agreement signed with Energa includes the Opalenica projects, which consist of three solar parks with a capacity of 22 MW, and Sompolno. “The sale of 58.6 megawatts of wind and solar capacity is in line with the asset rotation defined in the strategic plan,” says Greenvolt.

The statement adds: “The Sompolno project stands out for offering a pioneering hybrid solution in Poland, with an installed capacity of 26 MW wind and 10 MW solar, allowing injection into the grid of wind and solar energy that complement each other to provide more energy with maximum efficiency.”

The João Manso Neto-led company says the global installed capacity will reach 58.6 MW, allowing for the generation of 111 GWh of renewable energy per year after it comes into operation.

“The transaction will be completed once the commercial operation date (COD) is reached for the first park, in this case Sompolno, which is supposed to reach COD in December 2023, while the Opalenica park will start in June 2024,” the statement reads.

“These two projects, now in the final stages of construction, are an excellent example of the ability of the Greenvolt Group to develop high-quality renewable energy projects, with innovative solutions that increase production capacity, and which are valued by buyers, in this case, Energa,” says João Manso Neto.

“We are seeing a growing appetite for the renewable energy projects that we are developing,” he adds CEO From the Greenvolt Group, indicating that the goal is to sell at least 200 megawatts of wind and solar assets by the end of this year, as specified in the strategic plan submitted to investors.

Poland is one of the key markets for the Greenvolt Group in developing its strategy to promote, develop and build large-scale wind and solar energy projects. currently from Pipeline 6.9 GW – 2.9 GW in advanced stage of development by the end of the year – 3.4 GW in Poland.

“Besides promoting large-scale wind and solar PV projects in several European and American markets, Greenvolt Group is also present in the strategic part of distributed generation, operating in business and residential sectors in six geographical regions. In energy production from residual biomass, it is present in Portugal and the United Kingdom,” the note reads.
