a Google is dead It gains novelty for allowing users to disable/hide moving a specific participant in a meeting — a feature it was, until now, limited to hosts.

With that, you are now no longer “obligated” to see the transfer of other people who have the camera but don’t contribute to the call in terms of content, and are only able to keep the hostsFor example.

according to Googlethe feature will be available on Google Meet for desktop and mobile devices and will only change the user experience for the participant who activates it – meaning other users won’t get notifications when they “mute” someone.

To activate the feature, which has no moderation control, simply click (or tap) the three-dot menu in the block that indicates the video of the person (whose transmission you want to hide) and select the “Don’t Watch” option.

There is also another novelty that goes along the same lines, but more spontaneously. This is a new “Audio Only” option that, when selected, disables all video streams that are not currently showing content.

The new features are gradually rolling out starting today to all Google Workspace users and legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers.
