Google is working on improving the features in Gemini, especially with the idea of replacing Google Assistant on Android with the new version built on artificial intelligence. Last month, Gemini got the ability to automate Google Maps, and soon, users will be able to choose which music streaming platform they want to use.
According to the user AssembleDebugwho analyzed the code of the latest version of Gemini for Android, users may soon have the ability to choose different streaming platforms for music content, which Gemini will release based on requests made to it.
Users can choose between Spotify, YouTube Music, or other apps available on their devices. At the moment, the list of supported apps has not been confirmed, but it is certain that the most used apps and the Google platform itself should be part of the list.
With this function activated, users can ask Gemini to start playing a song, and they can use their chosen platform to do so, rather than searching the web or using Google's own platform, such as YouTube.
At the moment, the functionality still appears to be in a very early stage of development, so it may take some time before it becomes available to all users.
It's also worth noting that Google is also still trying to change Google Assistant to Gemini on Android devices, a task that's still going fairly slowly. Gemini, although based on Google's AI, is still more limited in its capabilities than Assistant.
