LONDON — British producer and songwriter Fred again.. has released OK OK (Hamdi Remix), marking the first public preview of his newly announced USB002 REMIXES album, as the artist continues to expand one of the most commercially and creatively ambitious projects in contemporary electronic music.
Released on Friday, the remix reworks OK OK, a collaborative track featuring Danny Brown, BEAM, PARISI and JPEGMAFIA, with production duties handed to UK-based electronic artist Hamdi. The track serves as the opening signal for a remix-focused release strategy that builds on the commercial success and touring momentum of Fred again..’s evolving USB series.
The USB002 REMIXES album is scheduled for release on 6 March and will feature seven reworked tracks drawn from Fred again..’s ongoing USB catalogue. Hamdi’s involvement in the project is closely tied to the live rollout of USB002, having joined the USB tour in San Francisco last year before returning as part of this year’s New York residency.
The remix release arrives amid a busy period of live activity for Fred again.., whose USB002 residency at East End Studios has become a focal point of his current creative cycle. Last weekend marked the second set of performances at the venue, with Friday’s show featuring a back-to-back-to-back lineup from X3butterfly, Doctor Jeep and Sister Zo, followed by appearances from Caribou and BRUX on Saturday.
Fred again.. is set to complete the New York run this weekend, performing alongside KETTAMA and BRUX on Friday night, before welcoming Caribou and Ben UFO for the final show on Saturday.
Beyond live performances, the New York residency has also served as a platform for broader artistic experimentation. Having taken over East End Studios for three weeks, Fred again.. hosted a one-night exhibition titled Boris Acket – Secret Life Exhibition. The event centred on an immersive installation by visual artist Boris Acket, which has become a defining visual element of the USB002 live shows. The installation is set to a reworked version of Secret Life, Fred again..’s ambient collaboration with Brian Eno, underscoring the project’s blend of music, visual art and experiential performance.
The USB series entered its latest phase in September, when Fred again.. announced plans to release ten tracks and perform ten shows across ten global cities over ten weeks. That initiative saw the addition of new tracks including you’re a star with Amyl and the Sniffers, Talk of the Town with Sammy Virji and Reggie, and Beto’s Horns featuring CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso and Ezra Collective. The USB002 vinyl edition followed in December, reinforcing the project’s physical and digital commercial strategy.
Originally launched in 2022, the USB concept has grown into a significant commercial platform for Fred again.., beginning with tracks such as Baby Again, Rumble alongside Skrillex and Flowdan, Jungle, leavemealone with Baby Keem, and stayinit with Lil Yachty. The series also incorporated remixes from Nia Archives, HAAi and Rico Nasty, before being compiled as USB001 on vinyl in 2024.
Following the New York residency, Fred again.. is scheduled to bring USB002 to London, with four shows confirmed at Alexandra Palace in February. The continued expansion of the USB project positions Fred again.. at the intersection of live performance, recorded music and experiential art — a model increasingly influential in the global music business.
