On Monday, Luka Modric was named “Man of the Match” in the match between Croatia and Italy, in the third round of Group B of the European Championship 2024.

Despite missing a penalty kick in the 54th minute, the Croatian midfielder immediately scored the first goal of the match. Captain and leader of the midfield, he hardly missed any passes and also became the oldest player ever to score in European competitions. He ended up leaving after 80 metres, at a time when Croatia still had the advantage.
