Elvas – Câmara cooperates with the hospital and health center

Elvas City Council, at its meeting on June 23, approved a protocol to be signed with the local health unit in Norte Alentejano, to reimburse for the acquisition of the new mammogram machine, as well as the purchase of televisions for the Santa Luzia Hospital and the exterior panel of the Elvas Health Center.

The municipality also announced in a memorandum published on the website that this session agreed to cooperate with the Housing and Urban Rehabilitation Institute to implement the First Right Program and the local housing strategy. Also in this area, it was decided to purchase a property intended for housing for young families, in Estrada de Santa Rita, in Elvas, consisting of ten T2 apartments, two shops and garages.

These three previous decisions were taken by majority: four votes in favor and two against, by chancellors Rondao Almeida and Annabella Cartas. At this meeting, all remaining decisions were taken unanimously.

I decided to collaborate with RTP, in order to realize, on June 27, the “Elvas, World Heritage” program. A program to commemorate the nine-year World Heritage designation of the border town of Elvas and its fortifications has been approved, with a cultural program to be held on July 3, 10 p.m., at the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Elvas António Tomás Saucer.

The following privileges were identified: from the lecture hall of the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of Elvas António Tomás Pires to the Confederation of Northern Alentejo CGTP/IN on June 25; From Elvas Municipal Cineteatro to Conversas 100 Limited, for a training event on Entrepreneurship and Marketing, July 3rd & 4th; From the open space of the municipal pools of Elvas to the Elvense Swimming Club, for the 38th meeting of the Cidade de Elvas, on June 26; From the Municipal Athletics Stadium to the Portalegre District Athletics Federation, on June 12; And from the municipal athletics stadium and the major gymnasium, to Varzim Sport Clube, for football training, between July 3 and 11.

Technical support was provided to the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Deficient Citizens of Elvas, to implement a project at its headquarters.
