Elon Musk’s accession to Twitter will bring many changes: the millionaire’s experiment with social network destinations did not go in the best way, but signs of his intention to turn Twitter into a “super app” are already emerging.

“The purchase of Twitter is an accelerator to create X, the app for everything,” Musk said, shortly after completing the purchase. And while it’s the changes to the functionality and policies of the social platform that’s making the most noise, a Tesla or Space X owner is also developing, albeit on a minor level, this new app known as X.

The transformation, as revealed by the Spanish newspaper “The Economista”, on Tuesday, is so silent that Twitter is no longer a registered company, as documents of a judicial process in which the company is involved indicate: Twitter changed its name to X Corp.

The idea of X isn’t new, as Musk had already warned, a long time ago, that he wanted to turn the social network into an app where you could do everything, something similar to China’s WeChat — a sort of ‘Swiss army knife’ for online services.

In addition to allowing calls, messages, photos and videos, X will have other sections that will allow the user to shop, apply for loans, book and organize trips, order a taxi or even watch a movie – all in the same app.

The X name wasn’t chosen randomly: Musk registered the domain x.com, which includes a digital bank (later evolved into PayPal), among other things. Any new event by one of Elon Musk’s companies can now be included as part of the branding. The merger has not yet been announced, but the effects of the change are already beginning to be seen.
