Elon Musk has been testing a Tesla Cybertruck and he wasn’t entirely convinced about the quality of the chassis that needed improvement.

Two years later than it was supposed to be, the first Tesla Cybertruck Its production has finally begun in Giga Texas, although full-scale production will only start in 2024.

Until then, Tesla continues to polish the final edges of its first pickup truck, which the manufacturer’s CEO, Elon Musk, says is the “best product ever” for the American brand.

However, the “boss” of Tesla drove a “production candidate” prototype of the Cybertruck these days and said that the quality indicators need to be improved.

He made sure to tell his employees responsible for assembling and finishing the Cybertruck, via an internal email. But this is what the portal revealed Cybertruck Owners Club:

“Due to the nature of the Cybertruck, which is made of shiny metal with mostly straight edges, any difference in dimensions feels like a swollen thumb.

Every part in this vehicle, whether in-house or from our suppliers, must be designed and manufactured to an accuracy of less than 10 microns.

Elon Musk

Tesla’s “chief” wasn’t even shy about making a comparison with the Danish giant LEGO:

This means that all part dimensions must go to the third decimal place in millimeters and tolerances must be specified in single-digit microns.

If Lego and[the makers of]very low-cost soft drink cans can do it, so can we.

Elon Musk

Finally, he concluded by saying, “Precision means perfection.”

It should be remembered that this is no longer the first time that Elon Musk has sent an email to assembly line workers asking them to pay more attention to accuracy and quality of finishes.

In 2018, Musk had made a similar comment about the Tesla Model 3, saying at the time: “We will continue until the Model 3 build accuracy is 10 times better than any other car in the world. I’m not joking”.

The final production version of the Tesla Cybertruck is expected to be released to the world in the coming weeks. The first delivery event will likely take place in the last quarter of the year.
