The Aedes aegypti mosquito is responsible for causing dengue, Zika and chikungunya, and can be controlled with everyday measures. In Sergipe, as of the beginning of March, 2,146 cases of dengue fever had been reported, of which 179 were confirmed cases of the disease. One person died in the capital.

According to experts, the ideal breeding environment for mosquitoes is clean, stagnant water. Therefore, it is recommended to pay special attention to water accumulation in plant pots, tires, bottles and other utensils.

It is also necessary to continue cleaning drains, gutters, swimming pools, aquariums and other points where water can accumulate in homes. Another tip is to open the doors and windows when the car smokes and use repellents.
