Círio de Nazaré 2022: Social work takes health and legal care to the public at Rio Branco Cathedral | acre

The service started at 8 am and continues until 3 pm for those on low incomes or socially vulnerable people. Among the partners in attendance are the State Public Ministry (MP-AC) with MP Project services in the community.

“It is very important, and I think it is good for us to point out that this event was an initiative that came from the diocese of Rio Branco, extrapolating the religious aspect and going to a social event, in fact, we are all here in community service, it is an act of solidarity,” the prosecutor highlighted Acting, Rita de Cassia Nogueira.

The Acre (Sesacre) Health Department teams apply vaccinations and provide other health care on site. There is also the issuance of documents and legal assistance. Also participating in the event are teams from the State Attorney’s Office (DPE) and the National Institute for Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA).

Hygiene products will also be donated to the homeless. Kits of toothpaste, soap and toothbrushes were collected at the reception at the MP-AC headquarters building.

Father Manuel Costa explained that Círio is done through three aspects: religious, social and cultural. Another novelty is that the religious event brings together all the parishioners of the capital, Acre.

“The purpose of the Social Círio is the love we give to God which translates into the service we can give to the brother, therefore, thanks to the Lord, there are many partners here today and it is a work within the programming of Cirío de Nazaré 2022”, it was highlighted.

• From September 29 to October 8 – novenas daily at 7 pm;
• October 2 – Manatee served at 19 o’clock;
• October 8 – Círio Music at 8 pm;
• October 9 – Círio de Nazaré Parade, 4 p.m., in Gameleira.
