Boavista reported that they have already been notified of Bruno Lourenço’s request to unilaterally terminate the contract.

The volatile SAD organization spoke in a statement about the “totally unfounded” arguments and repeated what it had already said to the party. More football First of all: the player’s “salary situation has been settled.”

In the same note, Boavista stated that it had received official proposals from other clubs to transfer the player, and confirmed that it would activate all legal mechanisms to claim compensation for “unjustified breach of contract and for material and non-material damages resulting from it.”

Initially, and because it had not been notified in the first place of Bruno Lourenço’s unilateral termination of his contract, Boavista viewed the situation as a disciplinary issue.

Boavista Club Administrative Communications, Futebol Sad:

1. Boavista Football Club was notified, this afternoon, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, of a unilateral request to terminate the contract by the player Bruno Lourenço.

2. The arguments used by the athlete in question are completely unfounded. For the avoidance of doubt, Boavista Football Club, Futebol SAD, guarantees the regularization of its salary situation to the player.

3. Player Bruno Lourenço was absent from work without justification on 15 and 16 July, having already missed four training sessions of the main football team.

4. In addition, it is reported that Boavista Football Club has, in recent weeks, received official proposals from other clubs for the transfer of the player in question.

5. In view of these facts, Boavista Football Club is deeply saddened by this unjustified decision and will activate all legal mechanisms in order to claim compensation for the unjustified breach of contract and for the material and non-material damages suffered by the association.

6. We reiterate that this new Board of Directors is and will continue to be guided by principles such as transparency, discipline, respect and truth, which it will never abandon.
