Antonio Gaspar Dias resigns from his position as President of Penafiel – Penafiel

The leader will be among the list of deputies of the Public Security Directorate for the Porto region in the legislative elections

Antonio Gaspar Dias, President of Penafiel, confirmed registerAfter he resigned from his position, he was then nominated by the Political Committee of the PSD to be on the list of deputies of the Porto region.

Speaking to Jornal Emedito, the leader said: “Although I do not know where I will occupy on the list or even if I will be elected on March 10, I understand that Peñafiel cannot remain suspended and wait for that day.” “I do not want to mix my role at Futebol Clube de Penafiel as director with my more active role in politics,” he explained the decision.

Peñafiel is now entering the electoral period, with voting scheduled to take place on 19 January, with lists of candidates due by 5:30pm on 4 January.

Antonio Gaspar Dias thus leaves the presidency of the club, which he has headed since 2013, and SAD returns to politics, having already been president of the Parish Council of Gallegos, in Peñafiel.
