LONDON, OH — America’s fastest-growing grocer, ALDI, is set to open its first store in London, Ohio, as part of its nationwide expansion strategy aimed at delivering quality groceries at the lowest possible prices. The new store, located at 1050 Eagleton Blvd, will officially open its doors on November 6, marking another milestone in the company’s ambitious plan to operate 800 stores across the U.S. by 2028.
The £40 billion retailer, widely recognised for its streamlined business model and award-winning private-label products, says the London store will bring fresh, affordable food and essential household items to local residents while maintaining ALDI’s hallmark focus on value and simplicity.
Laura Bauer, Regional Vice President for ALDI, said the new store reflects the company’s commitment to affordability and convenience.
“At our new London ALDI store, shoppers will find that every decision we make, from our product selection to store layout, is to provide our customers with the best products at the lowest possible prices of any national grocer,” said Bauer. “Our customers can save up to 36% on an average household’s shopping list*. As shoppers look for better ways to stretch their dollar, ALDI is providing London with easier access to quality groceries at affordable prices.”
Local Launch and Promotions
To mark the grand opening, ALDI will host a celebratory event beginning at 8:30 a.m. on opening day. The first 100 customers through the doors will receive a complimentary gift bag featuring ALDI-exclusive products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket giveaway programme*. Shoppers will also have the chance to enter a draw for a $500 ALDI gift card throughout the opening weekend.
The store will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering a convenient and efficient shopping experience for residents.
Delivering the “ALDI Difference”
The new London location has been designed to showcase what the retailer calls the “ALDI difference” — a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Low-price leadership:
ALDI maintains its position as the nation’s leading low-cost grocer, offering customers savings of nearly $4,000 annually compared to shopping name-brand alternatives.
Simplicity and efficiency:
By curating a tight range of essential products rather than stocking thousands of items, the retailer eliminates unnecessary choice while streamlining store operations and reducing overheads.
Exclusive products and quality assurance:
Roughly 90% of the products available are ALDI-exclusive brands, ranging from fresh produce and organic meats to wines, cheeses, and plant-based items. Every item is covered by the company’s Twice as Nice Guarantee, offering both a replacement and a refund if customers are not 100% satisfied.
Sustainability commitment:
ALDI continues to strengthen its environmental credentials. It was the first major U.S. retailer to eliminate single-use plastic bags and is actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions, food waste, and non-recyclable packaging across its operations.
Convenience and technology:
Nearly all ALDI stores across the U.S. now feature Curbside Grocery Pickup and home delivery options through shop.aldi.us, providing shoppers with flexible access to groceries that fit modern lifestyles.
Employment and Community Impact
As part of its continued growth, ALDI has also been recognised for creating quality employment opportunities across America. The company has been named one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes seven times in the past eight years, reflecting its strong commitment to staff wellbeing, competitive pay, and professional development.
The London store’s opening is expected to provide several new local jobs, contributing to both the area’s economic development and ALDI’s reputation as a trusted employer.
A Growing National Presence
Founded on principles of simplicity and efficiency, ALDI’s no-frills approach to retailing has helped the grocer become one of the most influential players in the U.S. grocery sector. The brand’s expansion into smaller markets like London, Ohio, underscores its broader mission to make high-quality food accessible to all households, regardless of location.
The company’s disciplined business model has also positioned it as a leader in sustainability, earning ALDI national recognition for its efforts to reduce environmental impact while keeping prices low for consumers.
As Bauer noted, the company’s growth is driven by a simple philosophy: providing exceptional value without compromise. “Our goal is to make healthy, high-quality groceries affordable and accessible for every family,” she said.
With strong consumer loyalty, expanding digital services, and continued investment in sustainable operations, ALDI’s latest store opening is another step toward reshaping the American grocery landscape.
