Lula is not an electoral option, as his government has been characterized by the corruption of democracy. Against the PT Energy Project, he declared, in the second round, supporting Bolsonaro,” Moro wrote on the social network Twitter.

The elected congressman became known for his work as a trial judge in Operation Lava Jato, which investigated crimes committed in Petrobras, and arrested businessmen, politicians, and public servants.

While serving as a judge, Moro sentenced Lula da Silva and issued an arrest warrant against the former president in a lawsuit over possession of a luxury apartment that ended up being overturned by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which considered the former judge A. suspect, or is biased in judgment, and has rescinded all proceedings in the proceedings against the former head of state.

Thanks to the cancellation of these operations, the leader of the Workers’ Party (PT) has regained his political rights and is now running against Bolsonaro in the presidential election, in the second round scheduled for the 30th session.

The new senator from Paraná also had differences with Bolsonaro, with whom he served as justice minister in his first two years in office. Moro left office accusing Bolsonaro of trying to interfere with the police on behalf of family members and allies involved in corruption investigations, but in recent months he has been trying to get closer to winning the votes of conservative voters tied to the head of state.

Rio de Janeiro’s re-elected governor, Claudio Castro, also announced his support for Bolsonaro on Tuesday.

“Gratitude cannot be described for Bolsonaro’s victory and we will make Rio de Janeiro the biggest difference in Brazil,” Castro told a news conference.

In the morning, Romeo Zema, Governor of Minas Gerais, announced his support for the incumbent president who is seeking re-election.

More than 150 million Brazilians must choose between Bolsonaro and former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the second round of the presidential election, which will be held on October 30.
