After a year of fighting cancer, Joao Catari returns to television

The 43-year-old actor is the next guest of Daniel Oliveira on the SIC show “Alta Definição”.

For the past year, actor João Catari has moved away from television and the media to fight a difficult battle against cancer. The good news is that on Saturday, January 20, he will return to SIC to participate in the new episode of “Alta Definição”.

This information was revealed by Daniel Oliveira, the presenter of the program, on his Instagram account. “Exclusive! He wrote in the post this Saturday on SIC. Although I did not go into further details, it is expected to be a very interesting interview (as is usual in this format).

On August 3 last year, João Catari, 43, was admitted to a hospital in Lisbon, shortly after the recording of the TV series “Sangue Oculto” had finished. His agency, Elite Lisbon, sent a statement at the time explaining that he was “clear of danger and clearly recovering from a health issue.”

João Catari rose to prominence in 2003, in the first and second seasons of the series Morangos com Açúcar, where he played the role of Bepo. In addition to the youth series, he was part of the cast of several RTP, SIC and TVI productions, including “Amor Amor”, “Terra Brava” and also in the 2012 film “Morangos com Açúcar”.

He began his career at TVI, where he made his debut in the new program “Todo o Tempo do Mundo” in 1999. This was followed by several small roles in national projects such as “Nunca Diz Adeus”, “Amanhecer”, and “Confiança Cega”. “Anna and the Seven”, “The Wild Angel” and others.
