“With the PS government, the Portuguese will continue to be deprived of proper rail solutions for many years. Daily citations will continue in suburban connections and delays and poor services will continue in the long run, provincial capitals without trains, delays and unfulfilled promises in infrastructure across the country,” he criticized IL President Roy Rocha at the urgent discussion set by IL on the state of rail transport.

In Roy Rocha’s opinion, “IL was right in TAP, in PPP in health, in association contracts and it is right in housing,” just as it is in railroads.

He stressed that “the liberal initiative is right when it defends that the only solution for railway service is competition and franchising, privatization or sub-franchising of the Communist Party,” noting that “if the Socialist Party continues to put ideology at the forefront of the country’s interests, it will continue to let the Portuguese down on the railway line.” Iron too.”

On behalf of the government, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Frederico Francisco, was present, who considered that IL made “a speech lamenting the impact of the strikes, while defending the privatization of the sector”.

“What I’m asking is how does the IL propose to ensure social peace. If they are in a position to tell workers who are on strike, in the IL model, they will be able to defend their rights better than in the current model” he asked expressingly in the UK , the country in which they “pioneered the segmentation and privatization of the sector and are now reversing this privatization”.

The official defended that one could comment “on the incidents, on the details, to point out the defects and shortcomings that exist” and that the government does not deny “and that will take time to remove”, but that this should not preclude acknowledgment from improvements.

He stressed that “for a long time, for several decades, not much was done by railways in Portugal”.
