Author of books, lines of code, academic documents, and many other things, ChatGPT has already proven itself in several contexts. Now, he has developed a game called Sumplete, under the supervision of Daniel Tate.

It only took ChatGPT 30 seconds to generate Sumplete, a simple sudoku-like game as requested by Daniel Tate. The request was the first step, followed by initialization in HTML and Javascript, by ChatGPT. After that, the user finished the details and created a website so that everyone can play the game.

Daniel Tate has documented the entire process and made it available at the link onat the bottom of the site.

To play Sumplete, you only need access here. You will find a simple layout very similar to other well known puzzles, such as Sudoku. Below the buttons show the mistakes made, reveal hints, restart the level and give the answer.

While visually similar, Sumplete's rules differ from Sudoku's. As explained on the website itself, the idea is to remove numbers until the sum of the remaining numbers results in the number of that column and row, one at a time.

Once you get to the website, the grid shown corresponds to the beginner level (3x3). However, it is possible to create new grids, with different difficulty levels: easy (4x4), medium (5x5), hard (6x6), advanced (7x7), expert (8x8) and Master (9×9).

In addition to the different levels, you can challenge yourself and play "Sumplete daily Challenge", completing the game as quickly as possible.

Is ChatGPT able to create a new game or does it just copy other existing games to create your own?

As we saw above, Daniel Tate asked ChatGPT to create a game that, although similar to Sodoku, didn't exist yet. However, according to Digital Trends, the young man has created a puzzle matching two others that have been available for some time in the Google and Apple app stores, Summer and Rullo, respectively.

In an interview, Daniel Tate, a user who helped ChatGPT develop the game, complained about the confidence his chatbot showed when I told him I had invented a new game:

My main concern is that ChatGPT confidently tells me that they have invented a new game.

After this confirmation that ChatGPT gave him, Tate said that "the model should be trained to be less confident in these types of responses, or to be unable to respond at all." After all, "I'd better answer that this game was inspired by Summer or Rullo, if that's really the idea."

This misconception raises questions about ethics and sparks debate about the true potential of ChatGPT, in creative terms...
