New England Foreign Secretary David Lammy has confirmed that Keir Starmer’s recently-appointed Labor government will withdraw funding from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) after a six-month hiatus from Israel. Party allegations.

Israel has never demonstrated anything like a United Nations investigation and robust global scrutiny. Most countries that have cut donations have resumed them months later.
Regarding the allegations, Lammy highlighted: “Following Catherine Colonna’s independent analysis, we reaffirm that UNRWA respects the highest standards of neutrality and has strengthened its procedures, including verification”.
“UNRWA acted; “Partners like Japan, Norway and the European Union have stepped up,” added the new minister. “Our government will also act.”
Israel has for years sought to attack UNRWA under its right to terminate the agency’s activities as a way to end its agenda of Palestinian refugees who have been denied the right of return under international law for more than seven decades.
Israel has been waging indiscriminate attacks on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 38,700 people, injuring 90,000 and leaving two million homeless. The Israeli blockade created an unprecedented hunger crisis, along with the destruction of infrastructure.
United Nations hospitals, schools and shelters are not spared.
Israeli actions are collective punishment and genocide.
