Health plans have a legal obligation to accept people with autism spectrum disorder, however, cancellation of contracts and service provision has been reported by users of several agreements. A recent bill in the Senate seeks to protect and guarantee service to these people. Correspondent Marina Dantas: A bill recently introduced in the Senate prohibits health plans from denying multidisciplinary care to people with autism spectrum disorder. The proposal also prohibits cancellation of contracts and limits the number of sessions of any medical modality; in addition to preventing increased co-payments and requiring additional medical reports or reimbursement reports. The author of the proposal is Senator Chico Rodriguez, from the PSB of Roraima: (Senator Chico Rodriguez): “It is important that they understand that all this treatment must, in fact, be carried out by health plans because these people need special care.” Care.
