Oaklands College is a large further education and training provider based in Hertfordshire, with campuses in St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and further training provision in Borehamwood.
Originally established in 1920, we opened our doors to First Wold War ex-service men under the Officers’ Agricultural Training Scheme and to the Women’s Land Army members who also received their training at the college.
Since then, we have developed a wide range of learning opportunities, still retaining our agricultural heart through offering land-based courses.
Oaklands College has a reputation for delivering student success in an interactive, supportive and inclusive environment and our aim is to provide outstanding learning opportunities and training solutions for everyone.
We offer almost 1,500 full and part-time courses to 10,000 students who come from a wide variety of regions and our popular sporting academies continue to draw students from all over the UK. We also work as part of a consortium with local schools to offer a wide curriculum for students at different levels, such as A-Levels and Diplomas.
We have strong links with the local community, working closely with local businesses, charities and councils to ensure that our learning provision continually meets the needs of the local community and our students have access to local jobs and services.
